PMA Tester

We build these tester and test them before shipping them.


The perfect technician's buddy, this PMA tester is designed to test a single conventional zone. The voltage can be from 1.5Vdc to 35Vdc. When connected to a conventional zone in normal state, the pma tester will be silent. When a short or open exist on the line the tester will beep until the voltage is restored. As far as our current testing, their are no smoke detectors that trip the tester, but a visual LED is usally visible on smoke detectors. The unit is powered via two 9VDC batteries.


Applications

With a panel equiped with a resetting walk test

Most panel with a walk test will reset the power to all zones that are in walk test. When a device is tested, putting the PMA tester on the any zone that is reset by the walk test would make the buzzer ring on reset.


Panels without walk test

Either test a single zone at a time, or have someone reset the panel while testing, this eliminates the need for radios.


Sprinkler Fine Tuning, proper timming

A prinkler system, will normally have switches that monitors, Valve Tampers, Low Air/Water, Flow.

  • - By connecting the PMA tester to say a tamper switch, the sprinkler technician can properly align a tamper switch.
  • - For a wet system, connecting the PMA tester to the alarm switch, a proper count of how long it takes the switch to operate can be done accurately.
  • - Setting the jocky pump to turn on before getting a low water pressure alarm is easely done with the PMA tester,

Advantanges

Test SIGA Dry Contact Inputs

As opposed to other PMA Testers out there, this tester is capable of testing SIGA-CT(1/2) SIGA-MM1 and any SIGA devices that can monitor a dry contact. The SIGA modules only send about 5-7 VDC for checking the EOL, and it detects a short and the panel acts per programmed.


Client's confirmation of test being done

Per my experiences with this tool, the clients are more at ease hearing the PMA testor going off, hearing a confirmation that the device has gone into alarm.
